We officially kicked off the holiday season on Monday with our annual Crate and Barrel Giveaway! And what better way to continue the fun than a new Christmas Cupcake Liner Craft? If you’re a regular reader, you know we love a good cupcake liner craft! And why not? They’re adorable, easy and make great use of the extra cupcake liners we all have lying around.
A few weeks ago, I found my inner Santa and came up with a fun new tutorial for you. In a few simple steps, you’ll be able to ‘spruce’ up any cupcake. So break out your tape, extra baking liners and let’s get started! Perfect for Christmas goodies and easy enough for the kids to craft… hope you enjoy my Cupcake Liner Christmas Trees!

Cupcake Liner Christmas Trees
Tools:
Cupcake Liners
Double Sided Tape
Extra Long Toothpicks (or mini skewers)
Instructions:
- Grab a regular sized cupcake liner. Fold liner in half. Fold in half again, creating a pie-like wedge. Tape the two flaps together using double sided tape, so that you have one solid triangle.
- Fold in half again. Tape again. Now you should have a tall skinny wedge that is 1/8 the size of your original circle. If your liner is now a flat triangle due to folding, fluff it up with your finger so that it makes a cone.
- Insert your toothpick through the center of your cone. Slide it down about half way. This is the bottom tier of your tree.
- Repeat folding steps 1 – 2 with another cupcake liner. Mixing in another pattern or color adds to the fun! Slide this onto your toothpick creating the middle tier.
- Repeat folding steps 1-2 with a third and final cupcake liner. Place this last liner on the top of your toothpick to complete your tree. Smush, crinkle and/or adjust layers until you’re satisfied with your tree. Insert into cupcake and enjoy!
TIP: To complete the look, bake your cupcake in a pannetone baking cup {purchased at Bake It Pretty} and dust icing with powdered sugar before topping with a Christmas tree.
Whether they top off your delectable homemade cupcakes, spruce up some store bought sweets or provide a Christmas activity for the kiddos… I hope you enjoy these Cupcake Liner Christmas Trees!

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas! I will be signing off for a few days to spend time with my family. But don’t worry, I will be back after Christmas with a few party ideas to get you ready for New Years Eve. May your holiday season be full of love, joy and laughter… and many, many sweet treats! Here’s a little sweet treat of my own – a whimsical Christmas cake featuring Santa and his helper, Rudolph!

Here’s hoping that Santa treats you nice this year! Merry Christmas from Half Baked!
When I was a kid, I LOVED the snow! Especially at Christmas! Maybe it was getting to stay home from school or playing outside until I felt like my fingers would fall off. Or maybe it was coming back in to a warm mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows. Whatever the reason, children just seem to love the snow. My niece and nephew are coming up from Texas for Christmas and they are SO excited about the snow! As an adult, I’m not quite as thrilled. Probably because of the shoveling or the skating rink it creates for driving. So as I look outside at the snow on the ground knowing that more is on the way, I’m thinking that I personally prefer the wintry goodness of today’s Real Party. This snowy white dessert table from Alchemy Fine Events is truly a Winter Wonderland – one that won’t leave you with frostbite!

Now that is snow that everyone can enjoy, even me! Here is a little of what Vanessa from Alchemy Fine Events had to say about this dessert table:
“This white winter wonderland dessert table brings the season to life in the most sinfully sweet way. Like a sugar coated forest, this magical dessert table features such delicious delights as red velvet candy cane cakesicles sprinkled with peppermint, fluffy red velvet cake sandwiches and piles of fluffy white snowballs. Tree shaped towers of powdered donuts invited guests to nibble their way through the eye candy, which glittered with soft candlelight. Button covered yarn balls clustered in piles like snowballs while puffy light gold flecked tissue balls created a soft snow falling backdrop for the winter wonderland tablescape.”
A very special thank you to Alchemy Fine Events for the amazing party inspiration and to Justin Lee for the stunning photography. You can see and read more about this wonderful wintry display on the Alchemy Blog.
Whether you prefer your snow to be the real thing or to come in the form of a powdery white donut… here’s wishing you a wonderfully white Christmas!
