I love the beach. I love weddings. So it doesn’t get much better than a beach side wedding! Especially when it has a stunning dessert bar created by The Pastry Studio! This pink and orange sweets table is bright, cheerful and perfect for summer. Starfish and lush flowers set the scene for this lovely beach side wedding!
How lovely are those starfish cookies? What a charming wedding favor they make. And check out these chocolate covered strawberries, nestled between mini cupcakes topped with sugar flowers. Oh my! The only problem would be choosing what to enjoy first!
This wedding makes me want to head to the beach! I’m envisioning myself there right now…. basking in the sun with the waves crashing in the background. Ahhh. Almost makes me forget about the rain coming down outside.

If you’re just joining us, we are celebrating love all week long in honor of Valentine’s Day and my upcoming 10 year wedding anniversary! Because we love everyday not just on February 14th, right? We kicked off LOVE Week with our LOVE that Dress Giveaway from Shabby Apple followed by a lovely San Fran wedding that is so good it deserves two posts. Today is the second half and well, we saved the best for last. The Cake! It’s easy to see why I LOVE this cake!
This cake is just spectacular! But then again, I would expect nothing less from Shinmin of
I Dream of Cake. She is amazingly talented and one of my absolute favorite cake designers. This design is crisp and modern yet has a whimsical feel to it. The scroll work and birds mimic the wedding invitation and other wedding decor. The sugar flower topper is a miniature version of the bride’s reception hairpiece. I love how the cake is flanked by over-sized flower balls adding a ruffly feel similar to the bride’s amazing dress. This whole table is absolute perfection! Yesterday, we kicked off LOVE Week with a fabulous LOVE that Dress Giveaway from Shabby Apple. And today we continue on with a real wedding that I’ve been just dying to feature!
When I saw today’s Real Wedding, I was instantly smitten. It’s so modern, fresh and just plain fun. And it is definitely in the spirit of LOVE Week!
This modern love affair comes to us from
Tanja Lippert. It is always a pleasure to feature Tanja’s stunning photography. We’ve featured her work several times in the past and it never disappoints. She truly captured the heart and soul of this wedding… it was obviously a day full of love and joy!
Certain events just stand out in a crowd, and this one definitely does. I love the modern dresses – from the printed bridesmaid’s dresses to the bride’s short ruffled gown paired with those sassy red heels. The black, red and white color combination is so crisp and perfect for a February wedding. Not only is this wedding gorgeous but it included a knock-out wedding cake that is worthy of its very own post later in the week! Look for it on Friday!!
