Real Party: Leapin’ Lizards Birthday
August 24th, 2010 by Carrie Sellman | 6 Comments

I cannot tell you how unbelievably cute and unique today’s real party is!  It takes serious creativity to take a theme such as ‘lizards’ and turn that into an adorable and girly party appropriate for a two-year old.  And that’s exactly what Lindsey from Bella Grace Party Designs did for her daughter’s second birthday.  This day on the beach is filled with vibrant colors and lots of Leapin’ Lizards!

The bright turquoise, hot pink and lime green create a lively color pallet that screams summer fun.  I just love the ‘Lizard Lotion’ sunscreen bottles and those lizard cookies are too cute!  Lindsey enlisted the help of Jessica from Pen N’ Paper Flowers to create the adorable lizard graphic, water bottle labels and lizard lotion labels. The too-cute-to-eat lizard cookies are from Lori’s Place Gourmet Delights.

A very special thank you to Lindsey from Bella Grace Party Designs for sharing this girly gecko party with us. You can see even more of this charming party here on her blog.

Real Party: Sunshine Birthday
August 23rd, 2010 by Carrie Sellman | 6 Comments

With kids heading back to school, it’s starting to feel like summer is over.  I’m not sure if I’m quite ready for that, so I thought we’d revel in summer just a little longer with today’s adorable Real Party.  This Sunshine Party was created by Lindi Haws, owner and designer of lovetheday on Etsy. We’ve featured Lindi’s products before, but this party was created for her own little girl’s first birthday.  First birthdays are just not the same when you have a talented and creative mother!

Lindi designed all of the printed party materials herself, and did quite an impressive job.  I love the bright yellow accented with sunflowers and touches of creamy lace.  Here is a little of what Lindi had to say about this event:

“Guests were welcomed with a “come around back” sign, my rustic fence was surrounded with yellow bunting (made from vintage sheets), around the yard large dowels were painted and draped with fabric and “Ellason is 1″ signs, glass jars were hung from the trees filled with yellow daisies and lemon drops, flowers were stapled to the fence to serve as table backdrop and sun garland hung from the fence as well!”

The handmade lollipops were from Amy Sweet Dream while the panna cotta, banana pudding, mini cheesecakes and chocolate truffles were from City Sweets.  The cupcakes were from Georgetown Cupcakes and the sugar cookies were by Jane Miller.

A very special thank to you Lindi for sharing this cheery first birthday bash with us.  You can see more of Lindi’s creations and purchase the printables to create your own Sunshine Party in the lovetheday Etsy Shop.

Real Party: Giraffe First Birthday
August 18th, 2010 by Carrie Sellman | 12 Comments

I was very excited to receive today’s real party in my Inbox.  First, because it is cute beyond words and second because the talented mom behind this party got her inspiration from our site.  I love knowing that in some small way, Half Baked helped Heather create this amazing party for her son’s first birthday.  Heather spent three months creating nearly 60 different party decorations including a handmade 5-foot-tall stuffed giraffe.  Now that is one dedicated mom and party planner!  Let’s take a look at Tyler’s first birthday bash, featuring bright blue and orange with giraffes and polka dots all over!

I love the play area filled with orange balls and I’m sure the birthday boy and his guests did as well!  From the highchair to the food table and drinks, Heather thought of everything.  Each element of this party was perfectly tied back to the color scheme and theme, down to the Orange Crush bottles.  Honestly, there were so many cute images from this party, it was hard to select which ones to feature!

A very special thank you to Heather for sharing this vibrant giraffe birthday party with us.  You did a fabulous job!
