It’s that time of the year again….time for another a-ma-zing birthday party created by Jessica Levitt. If you’ve been reading Half Baked over the years, you are familiar with Jessica by now. But for those of you who are new followers, let me introduce you to one very talented lady! Jessica is a mom, sewer, crafter, designer, blogger and over-the-top party hostess!
We are always thrilled to feature one of Jessica’s parties because they are just perfect, down to every last detail. So far we’ve enjoyed Jessica’s Construction Birthday Party, a zoomin’ Race Car Birthday, a Cookies & Milk Party along with the Peaches & Cream Party she hosted for her daughter’s 5th birthday. This year her daughter turned six and celebrated with a day that any little girl would love. Take a look at this colorful and bright Rainbows & Unicorns Birthday!

A few thoughts from Jessica about this event:
“This year Aurora chose a unicorns and rainbows party. Actually she chose unicorns and I convinced her to add the rainbows by describing the candy buffet. She had been reading this series of books about a unicorn school and was really into them. And who can’t get behind that idea? And for the boys, dragons were permitted to attend.”

Activities included face painting, a t-shirt craft project and a treasure hunt for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! Guests were asked to come dressed all in one color so together they made yet another rainbow. How adorable is that?!?

Like I said before. A-MA-ZING! I don’t ever remember unicorns looking this good when I was a kid! The bright colors, beautiful treats and creativity make this party just spectacular. A huge thank you to Jessica for inspiring us all! You can read even more about this charming party on Jessica’s blog,

I was thrilled to find today’s Real Party in my Inbox because it is a red hot classic! Kristin Mika from Hampton Paper Designs hosted this adorable Fire Truck Party for her son Jackson’s 4th birthday. It’s simple and stylish yet playful at the same time. Charming water color illustrations are used throughout this party on everything from the invitations to the cupcake toppers, cookies, candy, favors and thank you notes. With fire trucks, hats and Dalmatian puppies, this party has it all for your little fireman!

Here is a little of what Kristin had to share with us about Jackson’s Fire Truck Birthday:
“Sometimes it seems so easy to achieve that fabulous factor when planning a party for a girl but for a boy it can be a bit more challenging. To set the theme and incorporate Jackson’s adoration for fire trucks, Hampton Paper provided party items embellished with 3 fitting images; a fire truck, fireman’s hat and a dalmatian puppy.”

More of what Kristin had to share with us:
“Children were greeted at the door with dalmatian paw prints that lead the way to party central. Activities included an art table with stickers and coloring, and pin the tail on the dalmatian. A real fire fighter arrived and visited with the kids – what a treat.”

More from Kristin:
“To top it off, Kristy Patterson from SweetNothings designed an elaborate candy bar packed with delicious treats. Each jar of goodies was labeled and adorned with a Hampton Paper dalmatian image. With much excitement, Jackson’s friends filled their boxes with candy and cookies at the end of the party. They also received a personalized matted print – fire trucks for the boys and Dalmatians for the girls. Those prints are surely hanging on the bedroom walls of those who attended! “
Special thanks to Kristin for sharing her son’s adorable Fire Truck Birthday with us. This party is definitely a 5 alarm! You can check out more of Kristin’s paper products on the Hampton Paper Designs Website and blog.

Well, I am officially back up and running with a shiny new laptop. Sort of anyway. I still have to break this baby in and get it set up with all of the appropriate software and and data from my old machine. But this will work for now, thank goodness! It’s Friday after all and I have some sweetness to kickoff your weekend.
I was very excited to see this adorable display sent in by Stephanie of Spaceships and Laser Beams featuring their Snakes & Snails Collection. Not only is this party collection completely cute but the display is a nice twist on the typical dessert table. This Snakes & Snails Brunch Buffet would make the perfect first birthday party!

Here is some of what Stephanie had to share with us:
“We only sell boys supplies and I get so many comments about people not thinking that boys parties can be as beautiful as girls parties. We wanted to do something to show that this isn’t the case. In addition, the Snakes and Snails theme is for the younger set.”

More of what Stephanie had to share with us:
“We thought it would be good to show how you could have a sweets table for the brunch-time party first birthday party. Typically, there are more adults than kids at first birthdays so we thought it would be a great option. The birthday details could also be easily swapped out for a baby shower.”

I don’t know about you, but I definitely think they achieved their goal – this party display is just beautiful and still completely appropriate for a little man. I love the concept of a brunch buffet, providing more than just sweets. The green apples are perfect… they are decorative and a healthy food choice all in one!
A very special thank you to Stephanie for sharing this lovely display with us! Have a great weekend everyone – Happy Friday!
