It’s been almost a year since my love affair with sock monkeys first began. Do you remember the KIA commercial from last year’s Super Bowl – the one that featured life size versions of the Yo Gabba Gabba gang and a sock monkey? Well, my husband was infatuated with that commercial! My favorite part was the sock monkey. The rest is history. Over the past year I’ve seen many sock monkey parties…. but this one is truly exceptional.
Today’s Real Party is an adorable Sock Monkey Baby Shower hosted by Elizabeth Seaton of Posh Paperie and her mother. In honor of the mom-to-be, Karrie Pyke (also of Posh Paperie), this modern yet vintage shower is just too cute for words. Stripes, polka dots and argyle mixed with sock monkeys riding in miniature “radio flyer” red wagons… what could be more charming than that?

For a woman who constantly talks about hating cold weather and snow, I sure do seem to like snow themed parties! So when Vanessa of Alchemy Fine Events mentioned that she recently created a Snow Sprinkle Baby Shower, I couldn’t wait to see it! We featured Vanessa’s Winter Wonderland Party a few weeks ago and you all loved it! So I have a feeling you’re going to love this wintry delight as well!

There are so many charming details to this party. From the glittering snowflakes and raindrops to the crystals and white baby’s breath, this party has an elegant but wintry feel. The sweets included homemade marshmallows, snowflake cookies, pie pops, snowy donuts, s’mores and hot cocoa. Personally my favorite touch is the baby carriage full of scarves!
A very special thank you to Vanessa from Alchemy Fine Events for sharing this charming Snow Sprinkle Baby Shower and to Katie Neal for the stunning photography. You can see more of Vanessa’s delightful work on the Alchemy Blog.
Today’s Real Party is modern, chic and just SEW cute! This sewing themed baby shower was created by Casey of Paper+Twine for her sister Morgan who has a passion for sewing. The theme started with the invitation which read “We are SEW excited to celebrate Morgan…. we are on pins + needles!”. So clever, right? With oodles of creative details, this baby shower has a personal touch that truly honors the mom-to-be.

Here is a little of what Casey had to say about this shower:
“I sewed some scalloped flag bunting, and we had a wonderful fabric table cloth, and amongst the food, we had an old sewing machine, and old wooden spools, sitting on the table. The cupcakes had little fabric flags, and in the flower bouquets, there were little fabric ribbon streamers. From the balloons, there were fabric streamers. The mom to be wore a fabric flower corsage, with a fabric stitched tag, saying, ‘mom to be’. I also sewed some little birdies on a swing, to hang at the shower as decoration, and then Morgan was able to bring it home, and hang in the nursery! As an activity, guests decorated onesies, with fabric, and ribbon. There was a sewing station for anyone that wanted to sew something on a onesie. People got really creative! This shower was so perfect for my sister! She loved it! And in true Morgan fashion, she made (sewed) us hostesses thank you gifts.”
I just love the vintage crafty feel to this shower and that it was truly personalized for the mom-to-be. From the invitation to the decorations and even the activities. And the fabric cupcake flags are too cute. Very well done Casey! Thank you so much for sharing your amazing shower with us! And congrats to Morgan on her new baby girl!
