Real Party: Giraffe Birthday
November 3rd, 2010 by Carrie Sellman | 2 Comments

Today’s Real Party is a delightful birthday party created by Bree from Surviving Suburban Motherhood.  Bree created this charming Giraffe Birthday Bash for her daughter’s 3rd birthday.   In golden yellow, pink and turquoise, this party is perfectly girly and fun.  And the playful dessert table features a giraffe cake and cupcakes that are just adorable.  Let’s take a look!

Here is a little of what Bree had to say about this event:

“I wanted to share with you the dessert table I put together for my daughter’s 3rd birthday. Her theme was giraffes. Everything was handmade by me, even the cake stands. Giraffes can come off a little boyish so I made sure to add feminine touches like the C of pink flowers as her centerpiece, the pink bows around the base of the giraffe head cakes, and the pink ruffled cupcake wrappers. The table was a huge hit! We served chocolate dipped marshmallows on a stick, chocolate dipped pretzel rods, cookies, cake, cupcakes, and jellybeans. The color scheme was a huge hit too, golden yellow, pink, and turquoise. For the dessert table “menu” and the jelly bean bag toppers, I wanted to keep the theme in with these items so I did giraffe print as the background and the font in pink or turquoise.”

A special thanks to Bree for sharing this adorable Giraffe Birthday Party with us.  We love it!

Real Party: Vintage Car Birthday
October 19th, 2010 by Carrie Sellman | 6 Comments

I was so excited to receive today’s Real Party in my inbox.  There are so many fabulous themes and parties for little girls but that is not always the case for little boys.  So I tend to get very excited when I see a great party appropriate for a little man.  This Vintage Car Birthday Party, created by Stephanie of Spaceships and Laser Beams, is not only stylish and fun but is achievable for even the busiest of moms.  Let’s take a look…

I love the vintage feel to this party and the orange and blue color combination.  And the cakes, created by The Cake Box, are just perfect for this event.  Here is a little of what Stephanie had to say about her dessert table:

“I call this dessert table a “life preserver for the mommy who is pulled in all directions.” The cakes and cupcakes were ordered from a local bakery. The mini cheese cakes, chocolates, drinks and even the apple slices (purchased sliced) were all bought from a grocery store. I think it’s realistic for the time constraints faced by many moms who work outside the home. And it’s appropriate for a small, in home gathering.”

A very special thank you to Stephanie for sharing this charming Vintage Car Birthday with us and to barebonephoto for the gorgeous photography. You can see more adorable party printables by Spaceships and Laser Beams in their Etsy store and on Facebook.

Real Party: Princess & The Frog
October 18th, 2010 by Carrie Sellman | 3 Comments

Today’s real party is a beautiful birthday party submitted by Krista of Kiki’s List.  We first introduced you to Krista when we featured her daughter’s Yo Gabba Gabba party.  Well today we’re excited to share this adorable Princess and the Frog party which Krista put together for her older daughter’s 5th birthday.  In shades of purple and green, this party is the perfect example of how to make a ‘character party’ modern and chic.

I love how Krista created a monogram with her daughter’s initial and then incorporated it throughout the party. What a great way to tie all of the party elements together.  The flowers are so lush and the cake, created by Tastefully Treated, is absolutely gorgeous.

A special thanks to Krista for sharing this adorable Princess and the Frog party with us.  We love it!  You can find all of the how to’s and vendor resources on Krista’s blog, Kiki’s List.
