Giveaway: $100 to Sugar Ed Productions
August 9th, 2011 by Carrie Sellman | 344 Comments

We’re starting off the week with a fabulous giveaway that will have all of the cakers (and wanna be cakers) jumping for joy!  This giveaway makes me think back to my wedding, when I first became interested in cake design.  As the bride-to-be, I spent hours looking for ‘the perfect wedding cake’ and soon wanted to try my hand cake decorating.  Only, I had no idea where to start!!  So I took a class at a local bakery and it was… well… let’s just say I was very underwhelmed by the knowledge shared.  To create the best cakes, you need to learn from the best!

Well, now it’s easier than ever to learn from the best!  Sharon Zambito is a world renowned and much sought after cake designer, instructor and owner of Sugar Ed Productions.  Her work has been published in national magazines such Grace Ormonde Wedding Style and she has appeared twice on TLC’s Ultimate Cake Off!  Sharon has been inspiring cake designers for years with her designs, techniques and instructional videos.  Like I said, if you want to create the best cakes, you need to learn from the best!  So when Sharon Zambito offered to sponsor a giveaway, we jumped at the chance!  And you’ll soon be jumping too because one lucky Half Baked reader will win a $100 shop credit to Sugar Ed Productions to spend on any of Sharon’s cake decorating DVDs and supplies!!!
$100 Giveaway to Sugar Ed Productions

Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, Sharon has an instructional DVD for you.  Learn everything you need to know from Successfully Stacking your cake to covering it in Flawless Fondant, or going Totally Topsy Turvy.  Maybe you need to start at the beginning with her Back to Basics, baking for cake decorating series.  And of course you’ll need the tools and supplies shown in the videos!  Who couldn’t use a fondant smoother, bench scraper or some new cutters?  Our winner will have a ball spending their shop credit on any of Sharon’s DVD’s and supplies!

The Flawless Fondant recipe has Megan all over it. I have fun ideas, can make beautiful sugar flowers, hand paint on cakes…but my fondant cake covering skills are pathetic! Plus, I can’t spend any more money on cake supplies…so this would help quite a bit =)

The Sweet Luxuries is my favorite dvd! the one I’ve been dying to purchase, but still can’t! I love doing cakes, and until now, a purse cake was something that I have been afraid of trying! I would looooooove to get the giveaway so I can finally overcome this fear! hihi

I would love the back to basics DVD.

I can see my name on “Totally Topsy Turvy”. Have not ever tried this type of cake. My life may already be this way but I must say I need Sharon’s instructions for my cakes! She has been such an inspiration!

I can see my name on all of them. So hard to choose! I want them all! Boxes & Bows seems to draw my attention the most. Such clean lines. Oh, if I could only do half as good of a job, I would be so happy :)

It’d be either Sweet Luxuries or Topsy Turvy for me! :)

Thank goodness I wouldn’t have to choose just one if I win, but Perfecting the Art of Buttercream sounds like a winner! I know my buttercream could use some perfecting :)

Flawless Fondant has my name on it. I used to enter cupcake contests and won several 2nd and 3rd place prizes. I won on taste though and when some professionals with fondant skills started entering theirs were always picked over mine because they were so pretty. I really want to learn to do fondant.

Flawless fondant has my name on it.

I would love to have the Successful Stacking DVD…It has Eliza written all over it! I have a small/on the side at home cake business. Being a college student takes up most of my time but I truly enjoy creating customized cakes for my customers, however, stacking has always been a weak area in my skills. This DVD would help out greatly!!!

    Shared this link on facebook….

I could use the stacking DVD as I’m intimidated to try a large cake due to not knowing how to stack it correctly.

I would love to own boxes and bows!

I would love to become proficient in fondant so I believe I saw my name on the Flawless Fondant. I have a dear friend that just does such fabulous work with fondant and she has inspired me so yes I am sure my name is on that DVD.

I’d like see Back to Basics, please!

I can totally use the flawless fondant. Since mine is either cracking or sagging on the cake. This is something I need badly especially since I won’t have a jobmuch longer.

I don’t know how it happened, but I clicked the comment link and accidentally left the following on a different post (but I think it still applies).

I’m not going to lie; I need to go back to the basics before I start trying to stack again. I lost my ways, but I want them back!

I’d love “successful stacking!” I am always so proud of my end result, but if it leans a bit the whole thing looks less credible. What a fabulous line of products! To get my hand on some of these would truly launch my cake crafting into a new category!

I would love to have the totally topsy turvy DVD! I am always interested in learning the best techniques for a sound structure!

Flawless Fondant has my name all over it! I still fumble with it from time to time. :)

Would have to choose two: buttercream and fondant basics. (Then might have to go back for that Topsy Turvy one, too!) Thanks for the giveaway!

I would go for the topsy turvy or the boxes and bows DVD’s

    P.S. Love Sharon Zambito!

Topsy Turvy totally has my name on it!

I would really enjoy the “Back to the Basics” DVD because I am newly married and excited to start baking and creating for family and friends!

Successful stacking would probably be my first choice (with flawless fondant right behind). I can’t figure out the best way to stack tiers without the top cake weighing down on the bottom layer and making my fondant bubble out. And the process of transferring the tiers onto each other and centering them. It is all very daunting! I would love to learn a proper way of doing it to reduce my anxiety about making tiered cakes.

I also have the Successful Stacking with my name on it!

Posted you on my Facebook page!

And because I like you on Facebook I have my name on the Perfecting the Art of Buttercream DVD.

Also did I mention Sharon Zambito is my hero?

For Tweeting and Re-Tweeting, the Back to Basics would be great too!

Sharon Zambito is my cake crush!

I can see my name written ALL OVER the Topsy Turvy Cake dvd, i have been wanting for years to learn how to make this kind of cake, and im so glad there is a professional dvd out there for me :)

I would love flawless fondant. I am a facebook fan and I posted a link to your page on my profile.

I think “Totally Topsy Turvy” looks fun!!!

I’ve already splurged on most of Sharon’s amazing DVDs, but I wouldn’t mind adding “Sheet Cake Secrets Bonus” to my collection!

Almost everything I know is self taught, and I feel I am at the point where I need a course in basic baking – just to cover little details that I lack – so Back To Basics has my name on it.

The Topsy Turvy DVD is the one I need!

Either the Buttercream one or the Boxes and Bows one.

successful stacking has my name on it! I’d love to have them all though!

just posted this on my blog http://cakesmithcreations.blogspot.com!

Sharon Zambito’s DVD’s are informative; they offer precise steps by step instructions for any level Cake Decorator. She is funny and warm, most of all she is a talented decorator. Looking forward to Sharon’s next DVD.

    Definitely the flawless fondant!

Would love to have one if not all of your dvd’s. love it!

Would love to win so I can give the dvd’s to my sister who loves cake decorating.

I see my name all over the Fondant DVD.
I can see it helping me with my fondant escapades
