Sum.. Sum.. Summertime!

If I had any musical talents, I would be singing that old Beach Boy’s hit because it is finally summer! Trust me, you want me to stick to cakes and leave the singing to someone else… but you get the idea. The weather is warming up, school is ending, grills are blazing and I couldn’t be happier. Winter is long here in comparison to Texas and I’ve been waiting for summer forever!

So in honor of pool parties, fireflies, popsicles and BBQ’s… let’s check out some great treats appropriate for your upcoming summer parties.

Hula Cake

‘Hula Hannah’ one of my favorite summertime designs. It’s perfect for a little girl’s birthday party with a luau theme. This two tiered cake was made to look like a grass skirt on the bottom tier. A bright blue top tier is surrounded by colorful flowers and graham cracker sand.

Fondant Hula Girl

Hula Hannah, who was hand sculpted out of fondant, is resting on top. I just love the flower in her hair! Makes me think of being in Hawaii…

More summertime designs to come!

Cute doll! Did you use rolled fondant to make one? You have gifted hands! These are just adorable and fun to look at!
